THE BPM PAPER
Since the beginning of this century MANY iconic brands have redefined how they communicate and engage with their audiences. Having long grappled with the changing beliefs of their traditional customers, the emergence of a new and unique generation of luxury consumers has changed the playing field entirely.
BPM has partnered with Neue Luxury to establish The BPM Paper, a biannual broadsheet capturing the unique perspectives, insights and dialogue from those redefining our engagement with luxury in the 21st century while celebrating those at the nexus of creativity, art and commerce.
Our inaugural issue explored how the value of artisanship and the handmade continues to shape our understanding of – and engagement with – luxury artefacts and experiences while our second issue explores the notion of obsession and the iconoclasts, leaders, makers and brands that pursue their ideas relentlessly, unceasingly and with a singular vision that makes it possible for them to change our view of the world.
Issue three – the time issue – explores our relationship to time and how and when the notion of time become central in our relationship to luxury. We travel to Paris to speak with creative iconoclast and enigma Michele Lamy while reflecting upon time with photographer David Sims. We examine the hyper reality of artist Michael Zavros while seeking perspectives from New Delhi-based artists Raqs Media Collective. We also reflect upon the notion of commemoration and make an architectural pilgrimage to San Vito D’Altivole to explore the Brion Tomb — Carlo Scarpa’s culminating masterpiece and the resting place of Guissepe Brion. We trust that you will enjoy each issue along with the many layers, personalities and stories that we endeavour to reveal along the way.
